Hello!

I found this dress for sale on ebay and the seller states it doesn't have any flaws and that it's from the 20s. I'm no expert, but the cut and style look quite like 30s to me. It also has side snaps, so that's another indicator that it's from the 30s from what I know. It quite long, like 48". What's your opinion about it? Should I take it? There are about 3 days left.

thanks in advance!

I say if you like the dress, can afford it, and the seller seems trustwothy, then go for it.

I like it! I am no expert in that era, and its hard to tell from just one photo, but I could see late 20s or early 30s.

It's hard to tell from the photos (oh, how I wish sellers would press their garments!) but I agree that it's more likely '30s with the side snaps. It looks to be a simple style, with the sleeves cut in one with the body of it but the puffed sleeves and front ruffles also suggest '30s. I'm guessing it's home made.

A lot of people seem to get the two eras confused, not sure why - they're quite different.

This style where the flare appears to be from above the waistline is more 1935-36. Yes, interesting it hasn't been pressed. I hope there are no permanent stain fold marks. Difficult to see from the picture if there is yellow staining.

Thanks everyone for the prompt and helpful replies!

@Nicole- yes, usually people on ebay don't bother to wash or press the garments, especially those with the low starting bids.i guess those seller either don't know enough about what they sell or expect to get a better price by dating the item earlier

@Brenda- thanks! I'll wait and see how the price fluctuates and maybe take a chance since it's kinda my size

@Jonathan,vertugarde - thanks for your dating opinions! I will ask about those stains

@missproper - oh thanks! but it's not really mine yet

the seller added some more pictures. i'll try and attach those as well , but I think the questions has been answered so far
