20s silk panné velvet dress...any ideas about this great print?

I see Persian for no knowledgeable reason...any thoughts?

Persian print sounds like a good descriptin to me. Those printed velvet dresses were really popular 1927 -1928

I see Orientalist. There was an Orientalist Movement from about 1912 I believe which strongly influenced the decorative arts during the 20's particularly in France. Morocco and Algeria were French colonies. Carpet weaving was a high art form and this dress design does look have many of the typical design elements.

I see some caucasian rug influence in the design. Definitely eastern influence. Another great find, Maggie!
