I'm just wondering if you are aware of the issues and arguments against the proposed CPSIA - Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act, CPSIA.
In a nutshell: any product sold for children 12 and younger will have to be tested for lead and phthalates, and anything that isn’t tested (or that fails) will be considered hazardous and can't be sold.
Sounds simple enough. The scope of this single sentence is huge and devastating for many small (and large) businesses in America! It is not directed at just large manufacturers - it encompasses ANYTHING sold in this country potentially used by 12 & under children - in any market, at any time!
Here is one example regarding the secondary resale industry - and yes that includes vintage childrens items:
Hand Me Down Clothes
Please become familiar with the issue quickly - The public has until Jan 30 to make comment back to the Consumer Protection Agency.
