- Black taffeta evening coat, lined in crepe, with gorge wide collar and slightly shorter sleeves with turn back cuffs.. Can anyone place the date? Around the New Look era? Also, what is the style of coat called, with flared back? There's also some foxing to the outer fabric, is there anything that can be done about that? I thought I'd try a gentle steam and brush..

2nd- Really soft teddybear fabric (woven not modern knitted/jersey type) double breasted coat, again flaring from the waist- makes a lovely swish! Lined in partly-quilted satin, what date would be put on it? It was sold to me as 60s, but my Mum, who's in textiles, thinks it may be earlier..

3rd- Cream mohair feel jacket from Rebere of Mayfair, no fastenings, large turn-up cuffs that would have fastened with buttons but they're missing.. Satinized label, does anyone know when they became widely used?

Um jackets are not my thing at all....

Quick guess at 1st is 50s, second is late 60s and third is late 50s early 60s

but I am not as good as others with coats, I can get with in 10-20 years but not 5-10 years consistently. lol

Any one else?

I agree with Jennifer on dates; late '50s for the first, late '60s for the second and late '60s on the third - I love the third jacket, the cuffs are great.

Re: the foxing, if it's silk you won't get it out. Actually I don't think you'll get it out regardless as it's not a garment you can soak. If you have a good drycleaner, you could take it to them and see if they can help.
