30s gown/lounger: what\'s the diff between lounger & gown?

Hi there,

Couple of quick questions, what's the difference between a lounger and a gown? And should this be title as a lounger gown or dress? Or all three? Also, can I get some votes on which pic does the dress justice? I'm not too familiar with this style, so I'm not sure if it's supposed to flare out a bit more at the bottom or fall straight down.

Thanks!

These loungers usually have all the details of evening wear...even some pretty luxe fabric!! If I am correct, it's the front zip that is the difference between elegant "around the home" clothing and an evening gown.

Yours is VERY pretty...great pattern and colors!

So what should I list it at? How can I attract people? By listing it as a gown, lounger or dress? Do people look for loungers?

Its a lounger but I would put all the words in the title, "lounging dress/gown" because nowadays we could/would wear a "dress" like this for all sorts of occasions.

I have one of these longing gowns actually called a breakfast formal, its cotton and from the late 30's early 40's and its far too pretty and unsual to wear just around the house.

I have worn it for evening "do's" and I have always received compliments and GREEN with jealousy looks!

As Bonnie said, its really only the zipper front that makes the big difference, although sometimes they are made of soft cotton instead of something more formal. Mine is cotton and I wouldnt have it any other way, its soft, comfortable and glamorous!
