Can't decide which way to go and would like your opinions please. I'm thinking between late 30's and early 40's but I wondered if the colour combination might strike more one than the other to somebody more experienced. In reality it's a very deep wine red and a medium blue, between royal and navy, can't remember if this is French navy?

I would go with 40s, probably just post war - 47ish. The greige lining, bows, patriotic colours, and the galosh band are all features from then.

Thanks Jonathan I didn't think about the colours being patriotric, but then I'd only just decided they were British due to the E width stamped on them. That's most timely with the Jubilee almost here.
