30's pants?

Hi Vinties, I'm a little stumped! My first thought is 30s ski pants. They are blue fine wale corduroy. Buttons are big (just a little over an inch). Thank you for all your help!

How long are they? Skiwear doesn't tend to have buttons, because you can't fasten them with gloves on. On that note, you couldn't tuck those cuffs into boots because of the buttons. I'm thinking they are men's costume pants, for a different era.

Thank you, Melanie! That makes so much sense. They are 44 in long.. They have a 28in waist and a 42 in hip (when pulling the pleats).

I wouldn't rule out that these were part of a bicycling costume from the early 1900s - the big buttons aren't right for the 1930s and I have seen a corduroy bicycling suit from about 1898 using button trims. I recall it was also lined with flannel... it's interesting -- did it come with anything else?

Thanks so much Jonathan! These didn't come with anything else. Bicycling pants from that era make so much sense! The bottom of them wouldn't get caught in the spokes! I appreciate all of the expert opinions on this board so much!
