40\'s Delman Heels --- what is this?

Just wanted to run this by y'all... I'm thinking that these are embossed leather in a reptile print? Anything more specific??
I love love LOVE these shoes!
I especially love their slogan <i>"The best shoes you can buy are the best buy!"</i>
I guess that's their way of saying "these ain't cheap... but you get what you pay for!"
They're made by Delman De Luxe.

So.. what do you think? Late 40's leather with embossed reptile print?

Thanks Hollis--
I have no doubt that they cost a pretty penny. The leather on the sole continues to the underside of the heel and is actually scalloped on the edges rather than just cut. I found that kind of impressive!

When those shoes were made Delman was an absolutely 'blue chip' name. They still make a nice pair of shoes ;)

Those look like they're in great condition - somebody's going to love 'em. Lots of somebodys, probably. Nice find!

Carolyn

P.S. I agree with you about the date & material ~

Thanks, Carolyn!

I love 'em myself.. I hope others feel the same!

I would definitely say embossed because the "scales" are too regular to be actual reptile. Of course, makers paid a premium for clearer skins, but i still think its way too regular.

Those are very nice and i hope they do well...and slingbacks to boot! (i am a fan of slingbacks)
