Hello, I need help evaluating this unique vintage set. I’m wondering which decade it might be from. Initially, I thought it must be from the late 60s/70s, but the longer I look at it, the more I wonder if it’s older, like middle of 50's? The fact that there are no labels doesn’t help - it’s evident that someone sewed it themselves on a machine - there are large fabric reserves inside, some parts have rough finishes. The fabric is definitely natural - like delicate cotton canvas, entirely embroidered. There are also individual rhinestones in some places. The zipper on the blouse is sewn sloppily - it’s definitely too long, but it seems quite old. Maybe someone made it for a carnival? What do you think? In which years was it created? Thank you in advance for your help.

My first thought, too, was that it appeared to be an ethnic type of dress, though I had no idea what kind. And the nylon zip points to it likely being no older than 1960s.
I was a child of the 60s and remember the transition of ready-to-wear clothing zips from metal to nylon. How I hated when my mother bought me clothing that still had those metal zips, it really hurt when your skin got caught in them during the hurry of dressing! And they never seemed to function smoothly, necessitating lots of forcible tugging and subsequent occasional breakage... at least, that was so on the the "affordable" department-store clothing my mother bought for my siblings and myself.
