50s Barbie swing coat - closure?

Came across this fab coat recently (it has a matching huge fur hat too!), but I'm not sure about how it originally closed? I wouldn't think there would be a belt due to the swing style, but there is no indication there was ever a button closure either. There is one thread on the edge of the seam that seems to be some kind of closure, but then again I'm not sure. Any thoughts? Thanks!

The loop was placed on the edge of one side without a button on the other so that the buyer could choose where they wanted the button so the coat fit them closed as they wanted. The buyer decided not to have the button added though.

This is a plus for you if you are selling because the new wearer can now choose to have a button added where they want or leave it without a button as the original wearer did.

Is there a thin belt attached to the left hand side of the lining? Because another possibility is that the loop along the edge was tied in with an inner belt. My mother liked these 'clutch' coats because they weren't buttoned.

Thank you! :) Also, do you happen to know if this is just dyed fox fur? Would be cool to have pink fox of course ;)
