50's Cocktail Dress - Manufacturer name mystery - EDGWOOD?

I have this cocktail dress and while it doesn't have a normal manufacturer/designer label inside, it does have a size tag and another tag that is stapled on, which has some handwritten numbers and printed EDGWOOD. I cannot find anything on this being a brand name but perhaps someone here might recognize the label, or the dress? It kind of reminds me of an Adele Simpson I saw online but this style was probably pretty popular back then and could be by anyone really. Any ideas?

I believe that would be a person's surname from dry cleaning.

Thanks Maggie! I was thinking it might be a dry cleaning tag but wasn't sure if they would have actually stapled in a printed tag for that.

I've seen them stapled. Might it even be the name of the drycleaner, rather than the customer?
