50s dress with no inner lining?

Found this lovely dress the other day! I examined it and it doesn't seem like there was ever an inner lining which is unusual to me. Do you think it ever had one, or has anyone ever seen just a sheer skirt like this before?

Thanks!

If the bodice is lined and the skirt not, it may be that the lining was damaged and removed. I've seen a few '50s dresses without them. If you look closely at the inside waistband you might be able to see if there was a lining originally.

Love that champagne color...lovely. I, too, think the slip was cut out. Easy enough to have a new one made or wear capri leggings with it. LOVE the capri leggings under a 50s dress!
