For all the super vintage sleuths out there, I have a 60's 2 pc top and skirt set with a plunging neck The lable says ANGELA LANZA COUTURE. Any help on this mystery designer? Email me at [email protected]. Your reward will be ten thousand blessings from me!

To me, it looks like the outfit is a little later - 70s rather than 60s - because of the collar - and the color combo seems later still to me. i would be curious to what others have to say

(just click to enlarge the photos)

Somethings labelled "couture" are couture and some are not, but the maker added it to add cache to the piece. What is the construction like?

When I saw the collar and design, I thought 70s, too. This might look good with a belt (and of course something underneath ;) )

Lanza COUTURE

The construction does not hint to a couture piece, no lining, simple, but nice work. It could be 70's, it is a synthetic poly, not great fabric, the colors are real nice. I just am stumped with the name and I see I have stumped you all too! Well if anyone can help, please do
Thanks!

Well, the problem is - there have been a lot of smaller clothing manufacturers over the course of time. Some were regional. Some were in business for a long time and slowly gained a following, but did no national advertising. And then there were many that lasted for a year or two, or maybe 5 and folded. Or a vanity production/hobby by an a rich tycoon's wife and then she gets bored. Many clothing makers, just like any other business, fold in the first year or two if they don't have the capital, vision, or wherewithall to make it. Or some maker came a long and had a good thing and then got bought out and swallowed up by another label.
