60s? on this harlequin blouse, dramatic collar

That is a most unusual collar, Deborah. I have had dresses before with a much smaller version of the style of collar which I would date to the latter part of the 50s.

I'm not sure what you would call it, if there is such a term as standing cowl neckline.

Judging by the 3/4 length sleeve I would say late 50s - early 60s, just can't be sure with this one. Did you purchase any other garments that you knew were from the same person and may have been the same time period?

Thanks, MJ! "Standing cowl neckline" works - it's like a bateau neckline, but with a collar. I wasn't even sure which way to put it on as there are no labels or darts anywhere, but this side looks best; so I think I've got it right.

"Did you purchase any other garments that you knew were from the same person and may have been the same time period?" Unfortunately, no :(

Definitely an unusual collar treatment! Does it show any signs of ever having been folded over? It looks a lot like the roll-down or fold-over collars from the early to mid 60s, but I've never seen one stand upright like that! I'm inclined to say early 60s, but admit to being rather stumped!

Yes, this is a bias standing collar. I see this as early maybe mid 1960's. It has a sort of 'futuristic' /'Mod' look but not quite. Is it set on a yoke?

I did try folding it, Anne and then I inspected the collar. It's done in four sections. The front and back seams are butted, but the side seams have short wings - not sure if you can see in the picture - it's meant to stand. I can see it with cigarette pants showing a wee bit of midriff.
