Hi folks, would you date these slingbacks back to the 60s or 70s. I'm a bit confused cos of the gold leather. They r Uk manufactured by Kerrywell with 'Kerrywell De-luxe' on the shoes.

Thankyou!

Sarah

:hiya:

I also found these black pair by Manfield, which do look def 60s to me especially when I found an old advert for them. However, when looking on the web, other shoes by Manfield have the name sewn & glued on the shoe, but my ones are printed 'A Fashion Model by Manfield' & one of em quite lopsided lol. So, not sure whether that's cos mine r older or newer or???

These are my very first two pairs of vintage shoes that I've found & yes I was sadly excited, I mean, they're nothing special, its jus cos they're my 1st two.

The Manfield's are definately late 60s, the Merrywell's are more difficult to date and without handling them I can't be sure because there is less of them to date, being sandals. The oversized printing on the sock is typical of the late 60s and the stiletto heel looks mid-60s to me but the very open forepart of the sandal's upper is more typical of the late 60s - early 70s.
