60s or earlier?

I originally thought this suit was early 60s ,,,, but once I got it on my mannequin and starting looking at it I am thinking it might be a tad earlier... please let me know... I still think 60s but I want to make sure...

Also does anyone know the term for the fabric? it feels like wool, but has the apperance of poodle fur.... tight tiny curls....

Looks to be a boucle (pronounced "boo-clay"), a weave using yarn with little loops.

Agree on boucle...as to date, I'd put it as late '50s or early '60s. Sometimes it can be hard to tell the eras apart.
