60s Russian/Kosak Mod Coat - Fur ?

This is a bit like persian lamb, but different than any other persian lamb I have had - ultra soft and ultra curly - but not as long haired as llama or alpaca. At first I didn't think it was real fur because the coat is very light weight, but on close inspection (because fur is backed with muslin) wear revealed leather on the back of button holes etc; so it's fur. But what kind of fur???

Thanks, Harriet!!! My screen shows an orangy red, but it's redder. Now if I could only iron/steam properly...
