70s Men Mission shirt? what is is called is it desirable?

My husband has a shirt almost identical that I piked up at good will (I got this one too for $5.00) anywho I had someone at church call it a mission shirt.

It was made for a man but very small and I only have a female Manni. So I guess a female could wear this too huh?

Any way is mission the correct term and is there a desire for this. It has some soiling and maybe a yellow stain or two but still very wearable and no to distracting. It is starched to death so I don't want to attempt a cleaning as it is beautiful and I would be angry if I messed it up. It is dated 1976 and has wonderful embroidery. The inside (right picture) is as clean as the outside.

Have I got something or do I just like it a lot?

we've sold a ton of them, so when we find them, yes, we always pick them up.

they are actually Phillipine wedding shirts. i've never heard the term mission shirt, but that doesn't mean there isn't someone/group that does call them that.

does it have a fiber content listed? if it is a traditional wedding shirt, it would be made of banana leaf fiber which is very very stiff.

it is gorgeous; but i would try to address the stain issues. and right now i don't recall the laundering process for them...

It's actually a "Wedding Shirt."

The names & date in the label are the bride & groom & their wedding date.

It's cool.

really? I agree may be a wedding shirt but I think the name is only one person...

Michael Wong here is a better picture... would be cool if it were both of their names though!

thanks for ya'lls help, I so wish it fit my hubby... can I extend the arms lol!

thank you ... I was not disagreeing that it is a wedding shirt... just the name was only the groom thats all

sorry if it seemed the other way?

Thanks everyone!!
