80s?

Not sure about this skirt top ensemble with a loose sash belt...my mind's gone blank lol!

Is it 1980s? It came with two other 1980s dresses which i posted before (same rolled hems too)....but the lot I bought also had 60/70s as well. It has acetate lining but I've fluffed it up with a petticoat. They're batwings right? If so, they are 80s aren't they?

No label, homemade or dressmaker, zide metal zip which looks either in fab condition or cos it's 80s.

Yup - 80s, although I'd call the sleeves dolmans rather than batwings (which start wide and get narrower).

I don't think it needs a petticoat.

Thanks Nicole! thought it might be cos of the synthetic fibre.

I got my Marco Modes petticoat and yes I just want to use it with everything...I love it (good recommendation!)! But even though it has a very full skirt you don't think it suits this ensemble?

I think you meant to write "Malco Modes" petticoat. An eighties dress would only have been worn that way by a Cyndi Lauper, or artsy person. You've got a fifites hybrid look happening, so if you want a clear 80's look, no petticoat, even though it does look sort of cool as shown.

Yeah, I kind of like it with the petticoat cos it makes it looks quirky and arty and that's fine with me! The skirt has such a lot of gather, it's a shame not to team it with a Malco Modes.
