Greetings everyone. A sweet friend of mine suggested I see if anyone here could help me with these earrings I have. She said everyone here is very kind and helpful. Any help or pricing suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have 5 pair all stamped 925 on the back. Some have the initials NF, one has ND. I showed the pack of another pair for which they all have the same type clip. Here are the pics I have of them.

Thanking you all in advance.

nice earrings!

the textured back on the first pair indicates that the earliest they would be is 60's; however in the 80's there were some companies that did that flat type of setting (urgh, the proper technique is escaping me...) and also had the textured backs, as well. the second pair also look 80's, maybe even 90's; we used to live in Indonesia, and that looks very much like some Balinese silver that we used to deal. the third pair resonate more 40's to me.

these are just my gut reflexs at first glance. :icon_dante: lets see what others have to say, tho

Hoo Boy - Not awake yet and I was ready to come on and look at 925 pairs of earrings! I read somewhere that the initials - ND or NF (two initials like that) started in the mid (?) seventies and the first initial indicates the place and the second is the jeweler.

Are you thinking of the late 70s-present letter/number system for Mexican jewelry, Amanda? (A number is always present in that system as well). The first initial gives the city of assay, the second is the first letter of the silversmith's name, and the number indicates how many silversmiths with a surname of that initial registered in a particular city!

Since there's no number in these marks, I don't think they're Mexican. I'm not sure whose marks they are, or from what country! (But I'm assuming they are silversmith's marks/initials...)

I agree with Mary that the first two earrings look new-ish, possibly into the 90s. The design of the third pair does resemble 40s Mexican silver designs, but the clip mechanism isn't 40s... (40s silver earrings almost always have screwbacks...)

I'd guess that it's new-ish, too, particularly since it has the same mark as the middle pair.

Pretty!
