A bit of help please w/a \'technical\' name?

Pre-edited photos. Is there a proper name for this ethnic robe thang? India? Feels like Cotton, but the trim is probably a poly blend of some sort.
Oh & I'm not convinced it's vintage. But I think it's kinda cool...

They still make them. If the trim is poly/blend it most likely is new.

Caftan would probably cover the style, although I think it is more properly called a salwar kameez.
Edited for spelling and to add that most kameez are shorter and worn with loose pants.

I'm sure it's on the new side, but it's still kinda neat & I'm gonna 'suggest' it be worn as a bathing suit cover-up. Am I nutz?
