A little help needed dating a tailored dress jacket

Hi there!

I've been following the various resources of VFG for a while now and just registered to start posting, looking forward to becoming part of the community! :)

I recently picked up this lovely dress jacket - I have more knowledge of 60s & 70s clothing so this one has me a bit stumped - my best guess is 40s/50s but I would love to hear your thoughts!

It is a faux-tweed cotton material, with a synthetic lining. The jacket looks to have been tailored to measure as there isn't a single label to be found! It features knot fastenings rather than buttons, and the jacket opening is cut on the diagonal. The pointed sleeves are wonderful! And there's a fantastic inside pocket, something I always appreciate in women's clothing! ;)

I bought the item in a thrift store here in Denmark, but it could be from anywhere in Europe.

Do let me know your thoughts, thank you!

I think the brown pieces actually close...the little ball on one side goes through the loop of the other piece. If this works, would love see an updated photo.

Others will have to chime in on dating.

Yes they do! Sorry I didn't explain that well - there's a knot/ball on one side that fits inside the loop to fasten, I just unfastened them to get pics of the lining but will try and get an updated photo when it's light again :)
