A Little OT--Etienne Aigner Leather Sign

So this isn't really vintage clothing, but it is a vintage clothing/handbag/shoe advertising sign.

It is leather, it measures about 5 1/2 inches by 15 inches. I am going to guess it is from the very early 80s.

Do you think there would be any interest in this kind of item?

Hard to say. Aigner leather stuff is great quality, but obviously if it were Gucci it would be greatly sought after. I see someone sold an Aigner button for 99 cents! And here - 250927840513 -- is a nice Aigner compact that went for all of @2.99, so it doesn't look good for you. By the way, that seller's name is "Outhousebuilder" and s/he is from Kentucky. That's fun!

Sue, that might be something I would add into a listing for another Aigner item, like a bag or a pair of shoes. It would be a nice novelty item for someone's collection if they already buy Aigner. Not sure as a standalone item, it's going to bring big money--but maybe. Advertising and display-type things sometimes sell better than the items they are advertising!

So strange how vintage Aigner is under valued. They made great bags and shoes, beautiful quality and well designed, classic lines. It's easier for me to sell a "no name" 70s bag than and Aigner, go figure. Makes me think they might be sleepers and will one day come into their own.

Anne's advice is excellent--if someone appreciates Aigner already, having this included with an Aigner bag or shoe listing will make it even more attractive to them. (And if you haven't got an Aigner item at present, I'd hold onto this till you do!)

I agree with Melody about the sleeper possibility...
