a question about etiquette and 'giving back' to the forum

Hi Everyone,
As I am new to the forum and the Guild site, I don't want to just keep asking questions/help (though I have a million! I've got a bunch of unsolved mysteries and am trying to learn as much as I can)...is there a way that I can contribute something back to the Guild as I really don't have much in the way of really informed advice to give others....I do have several labels that are variants on ones found in the label resource list. Does the Guild want photo's of such things?

Welcome to the Guild Lauren,

I believe labels are wanted if they are in some way different from other examples currently shown (e.g. by colour, font style, image etc.) They must include the decade or circa. date of the garment so I would say it is also useful to see if the same label was used in a different era and thas is not currently shown.
I also believe there is a donation button on the homepage should you wish to contribute in this manner.
Other members have also chosen to run workshops or guides in the forum on their expert subjects too.

Thanks Pinkcoke!
So, for instance I have a coat that I haven't dated precisely (it's somewhere in the 40's -60s range I think) that is a Norman Hartnell label that I don't see in the examples....would it be best to get opinions on the specific era and then send it in to the label database?

Thanks Pinkcoke!

That sounds good. Welcome Lauren!

Yes please! Norman Hartnell is an important designer, if you post pics of the dress in a new thread and once the date has been determined, the label can be submitted to the LR. Thank you!

Okay, I'll get some shots of the coat and label tomorrow.
Thanks alot for your responses.
Lauren
