A woman who's grandmother gave her a Vintage 1958 Couture Dress

wow is what I thought to Ang... maybe she really doesn't know what she might have!! Don't you love the first pic of her grandmother!

Surreal! That is a tremendous story, history, and the clothes look as if they are truly important.

i'm going to repeat what was said like, 80 times:

20... more... dior?!?!

where's a fainting smiley when i need him. holy cow.

she sounds apprehensive and unsure about what she has, i think she might be better off going through an auction house that has textile conservateurs who can properly list everything historically. with a royal family history plus the fact that the grandmother is still alive and can give provenance, she's looking at a small fortune, even after conseign-shirtsment fees.

my grandma gives me t-shirts with airbrushed pictures of kittens from atlantic city. but she freakin' rocks and and i love her to pieces :)

a principessa! two marchessa's and 20 diors...wow wow wow...
but doesnt that board kinda make your toes curl....they all sit on the fence then bit by bti they tweak out the info form the girl and then they all clamber on....l'm so glad l only lurk there from time to time...

When I did some research on her Grandmothers name it appears that the family history goes back decades and decades.. to the Bourbons who are French aristocracy. Someone did a nice geneology map that I googled and there is a ton of history listed on the net so imagine what a real researcher could find. With grandma alive and pics and a family geneology wouldn't this be an awesome awesome collection and piece of history.
