Dear all,

Does anyone have any information on the brand(s) ACT II and ACT III? It’s not in the label resource and I would like to know any information anyone has on it.

xx,
Elle

ACT II and ACT III appear to be a division under the Jonathon Logan company.- see Label Resource
Searching the WPL (9442) number found on both ACTII and ACT III labels bring up the same results.
It appears that ACT III was a 70's thing as you can see from this print ad

I also found a record for ACT II and Jonathan Logan from an old lawsuit in the mid 70's which led me to find the ACT II label was discontinued in 1995. From my experience I have seen clothing from the 80's and 90's with that label.

I also found the likely 80s version of the brand that you were talking about or maybe a branch of the branch of Johnathan Logan .

Thank you for the photos. I have had vintage 80s ACT III garments before, and I saw the use of the ACT III name in newspaper ads since 1971. I could not find ACT II clothing advertised. Do you have a photo of your ACT II label, and if you have the entire garment or garments photos of those in entirety too may help us help you further determine age if you aren't sure yourself.
Here's a 1971 ACT III ad. While that was the oldest I found in the newspaper, I did find more than one from that year.

Then next is a 1985 article about Jonathan Logan and ACT III which was said to be one of his plants.

And one more reply for ya to make this more interesting. I thought I previously had ACT III garments before, however, when looking back at what I’ve previously had I happened upon one dress with an ACT label and that ACT label was an ACT I label!
Here’s the dress I had which I dated to the 80s. Perhaps different Jonathan Logan plants where his ACT lines were made.
