Adrian Gown Question

I have a lovely Adrian gown that has a few issues. It has a tiny pindot hole at the back shoulder and a 4" streak of fading at the bottom hem.
Should I get it restored before selling it? Do you have any recommendations on how to get it restored? Or maybe disclose the flaws and sell as it?
Thanks so much for your time and knowledge!

So can you tell us a little more about how you found? I remember when you posted on another forum for help with label. I would love to hear the story of where you found, etc.

It is drop dead gorgeous.

Oh yes, of course Msgrossmyer!
I found it at an estate sale of a woman who was a model in the 70's. I don't know how she acquired this dress, since most of her items were Halston and Gucci from the 70's. (Amazing Halston's I might add!!)

This was in a wardrobe box, and I knew it was 40's, but couldn't recognize the label...hence the posting on the other forum.
I got a huge response and now I know what a find I have!

It actually had a huge silk flower pinned to one of the taffeta "wings" below the hip. It didn't look authentic to me, since it was very big and just pinned on. I did lots of research and didn't see any of his designs with flowers on them.

Since she was not old enough to have purchased it originally, I wonder if she bought it for a Costume party or something like that and just pinned the flower on for added decoration.

I have contacted several Vintage dealers and Auction houses about my lovely dress. I just felt like I couldn't do it justice listing it in my store (don't ask me why!), but I will probably end up listing it myself anyway. (Although I am getting kinda attached to her!)

Thanks for asking about it...and for all your help and encouragement!

Check out recent ebay listings for Adrian. Set a reserve you are comfortable with and go for it. I think you will do really well.

EDIT: Just looked - not really much there for your Adrian. Do you have a Terapeak subscription?

No...I don't have a terapeak subscription.
I checked completed listings on ebay and couldn't find anything. I do find some gowns on vintage websites (although not very similar)
and was going to base my price on those.
