I'm thinking 80's....

I believe this is a dress but I'm not sure because it is sheer at the bottom.

Genuine leather. Firenze Santa Barbara.

Any advice on pricing something like this??

Thanks!

If it were satin, I may say it was meant to go under a certain type of dress, but since its leather, I would imagine it was for a very daring gal. because its sort of a hankie hem, I would say it was meant to be worn as a dress with tights or certain other garments under it. If it wasn't a hankie hem, I would say it was meant to have a skirt over it, and was just to provide some pouf to it. Wondering if someone would wear this with a skinny pant but I am leaning towards not.

Hmmm, no idea, I'm thinking it may have had a leather skirt with it, or something. I'd say 80s as well.

Definitely 80s, maybe 88-89 or so. We used to see this sort of thing a lot when we went to Toronto and the punk crowd was all about on the street. Lots of black leather and bare looks.

I would say that leggings would likely have been worn underneath this, probably the just-below-the-knee length, and possibly of black lace. Or maybe a very, very tight skirt, to give a peplum effect to the overskirt. I do not think it would have been worn over full-length skinny pants....

Anne, yes, the just below knee length leggings, that's the image I was looking for - had to work this morning and I'm just so done for, yesterday was already a crazy day, I don't think I can think straight anymore *lol*.

But for me personally and my sometimes weird sense of fashion, the skinny jeans would do...

Karin, I myself would wear skinny jeans under this, if this were my style, but it's not--LOL! I think it would look really cute.

I was recalling what I'd seen worn with similar back in the 80s.

I had a skirt like this in 1984, and you were supposed to wear leggings under it. I love the dress, but wouldn't be that daring now.

I've found myself a victim of the "I can't leave it behind" syndrome. Some of the oddest things have found there way home with me lately!

Thanks for all your help gals!
