advice on 60\'s swim suits

These are 2 of my favorite swimsuits.
My bod is not swimsuit photo ready so here they are on my cheap torso thing, also please forgive the not so great photos I am still practicing.

orange and nude fishnet Cole-Saks
this one is so risque when on that it shows SEVERAL INCHES of buttcrack, also hard to picture that the fishnet comes around a bit on the sides enhancing an hourglass figure

the advice I need is that I am lacking in the boobage to fill out these suits. They have built-in bras that are not the crunchy kind, but if they aren't filled with boob, they still look weird.
now I can...
A. get a boob job (not likely)
B. sell em so someone else can enjoy them (but I love em)
C. cut out the bra and replace with a modern light padding (but this would also cut out the tags "Cole of California & Saks Fifth Avenue" and I'm sure lessen the value if I ever do decide or need to sell)
what would you do?

hi... eel.....:hiya:

i love the black one.. it reminds me of something that cher would wear....lol.....

realistically.. only you can decide whether you want to try and re-do the boob part ..or just keep them.. or sell them.....

this might sound strange... but since i met and married my hubby and had my kids ...which are now 11 and 12 yrs.. i do not wear any of my vintage/retro clothes......

I would sell them. Iam sure they would do well... They are so groovy.... But if they dont fit....

Then if it were me I would keep one to have then sell the rest.

Collecters should love them....

These are forms of the famous "Scandal Suit" designed by Margit Felligi, the in-house Cole designer, first in 1964, and through the mid to late 60s.

I'd do nothing to alter these. The labels are important to someone who would want one of these for a collection! I'd just practice with different "falsie filler" to try and even out the boobs.

If you have any mid 60s fashion magazines, you might look for an ad for this suit, as it would be a great thing to add to the listing!

OK boob job it is then.... just kidding

thanks so much for the info lizzie, very interesting. I did a quick search and it took me to an article you wrote!

I will leave the cups in and mess with the pads and see if there is something I can do with out altering the suit. If it still looks weird, I will sell them on to someone who can enjoy them.

Eel I will try to find the photo of my mom in the 60's wearing a suit very much like that - and put it here for you! She had no boobs either, you can see how she did it, ahha

Where did MINE come from CRIMANY

Eel, I have some 60s fashion mags - will check to see if I can find any ads for you.

I agree with the others, would not monkey with them.

Never be affraid to stuff! Get yourself some of those fake silicone cutlets, heck, if it's just for photographing, I use shoulder pads out of my modern clothing (I have plenty of shoulder, thanks), even smoothly folded grocery bags will do the trick!
It's all about illusion, baby! My manni has a bra, padding, pantyhose and lots of packing tape to hold the illusions on.

Fab suits! I don't think you could get away with padding the black one, the fishnet on the sides would show the padding.

The red one looks like it would be easier to hide a padded insert.

But just wear them the way you are, and be proud!
