Age of dress? Talon zipper

Hello! I'm new here, but happy I found these forums since there seems to be a lot of help! I have a dress that I'm not sure of the era. The zipper says TALON and is painted close to the same pinkish color of the dress. No labels, just a size tag. Any help would be great, thanks!

It sounds as if you're saying the zipper is metal (being painted), but the dress looks very 80s. Is it a home-tailored piece, thus the person who made it might have used an old metal zipper? Or is just the zipper tab painted pink?
