Age of Italian shoes?

Hi everyone,
I recently bought these cute shoes and am curious as to how old they are. They do seem old, but the sole is synthetic, so I don't know.
Inside there is a label which says '5TH AVENUE INTERNATIONAL ELEGANCE', and on the sole it reads 'OBERMATERIAL LEDER, SOHLE SYNTHETIK, MADE IN ITALY 41' and above that, 'vera gomma'. There is also another word which I can't make out.

Thanks in advance!

I can tell you a bit about the label/brand, as it's well-known here :). 5th Avenue is one of the brands of Deichmann, which is a big German shoe company and they also own a huge chain of shops in mainland Europe - see http://www.deichmann.com/country.jsp. In some countries they bought up other traditional chains and operate under different names, but sell the same product. Here in Switzerland it's Dosenbach, in the Netherlands it's van Haren. It's easy to see, as the shops always look the same. They sell mostly their own brands, and some other well-known brands too. Price and quality-wise I'd place them in lower to mid-range. You can get really good nice shoes there, but also really cheap plastic ones. They have a store here where I live, but I never "warmed" to them. If I want cheap shoes, I go to what's probably their biggest concurrent here...
5th Avenue is their "fashion brand". At the moment, Halle Berry is their "spokesperson" for it. Cindy Crawford has been too. They always make it seem in the ads as if they actually designed the shoes - as if anyone would believe that :hysterical:.
The 5th Avenue logo now in use is a different one than in these shoes, but I do remember this one with the "skyline". I'm not sure though how long that brand has been around. I was asking myself if these shoes couldn't be newer - something like early 90s? I seem to remember styles like these from then... What it says on the soles is "leather uppers, synthetic sole".

Thanks for your replies Jonathan and Karin. So it seems that somewhere between the '70s and '90s is where they fit in. I actually used to live in Switzerland (Bern) and remember the Dosenbach shops! Cheers,

Johanna

I think you're right with a '90s date - this colour had a resurgence around the middle of the '90s, about '94-96 and the general look of them is newer rather than '70s.
