Age of this kimono?

I found this kimono for $4 today at the thrift store but I am wondering how old it is. The lining is a combination of red and peach silk, I can see through the peach. The seams are all hand done and the outside fabric feels like a light silk or cotton silk blend. The sleeves measure 17". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The tag in the pictures is actually from the thrift store. Other than that there are no tags.

Hey Joji!

I have a similar textile kimono that was dated as 40s. Here is a closeup of the fabric, it is also a woven silk with a silk lining.

In what I've seen all good kimonos are usually hand sewn in all the seams with little or no way to take extra to do a burn test. If you open one of the seams you may be able to get a small sample. That way you can rule out a later piece if it has poly in the fabric.

Hope this helps!

Hi Carla, thank you for your reply! The fabric weave is similar, mine has the same woven texture as well as non textural patterns. Luckily (or unluckily) there is a split seam that will allow me to take samples of all 3 materials. I will let you know what I find.
