age of woven red handbag with bamboo handle

Again from the lady with the 50's shoes this is much more elusive to me:

The woven material is hard itself but quite moveable, if you know what I mean, and the metal frame is really heavy duty, also you can see in the pictures how the bamboo handle is capped with metal and nailed.

If anybody could suggest a price range for this please I'd be grateful as I'm not normally a bag person

no that's the price tag :D I looked but couldn't find any labels or makers marks.

I'm not a bag person either, but it has the look of a vintage craft kit, to make with your own choice of fabric. Is there anyway to pop off the rods that the fabric portion is gathered onto?

No I think it's sewn onto it.

I think this is early 60s and it is adorable! Is it reversible?

Er... now that you say it I think it may be - the fabric could be pushed between the two bar its sewn onto and the frame bar - that's so cool!

Correction, one of the pole 'ends' on either side unscrews, the fabric threads off, you turn it inside out and thread the channel back onto the pole. :D
