l have the exact same one. I believe they come out of the middle eastern countries and the area, Persia/Iran, Turkey, Eygypt etc....It's difficultt o say the age, l think they are pretty generic and are made for tourism.

It may from the 50s when box bags were popular, even so its a nice example and l love it cos its a differnet bag and a VFG memebr gave it to me as a surprise!

I remember them being popular in the 80s. It was part of that ethno-princess look with peasant skirts, too many necklaces, Mexican blouses, head bands, cowboy boots and lots of rings and bracelets -- sort of an old hippie kind of chic.

Yep, 80s. They were all over the import stores then.

They were also available this past Christmas season at Steinmart. (I had one in stock and was surprised to discover it in a real retail store!)
