I am doing a continuing series of blogs about 80s fashion highlights that struck me enough to save clippings at the time. I categorized these and am offering them by subject here.

I didn' t have a preservationist's nature at all in the 80s and so there is very little detail, just my impressions. Apologies for that, but there are, and will be, some enjoyable photos.

Apologies! I must have used the address that is only available to me.

That link Chris provided is the newest entry (thank you very much Chris!) This ought to be my blog address:

It will probably take several weeks to get all the clippings out there.

Too cool! I remember owning some of the 80s clothes you have pictured. I well remember polka dots and stripes in my work attire. There used to be a store called Paul Harris. I had the best polka dot dress that I wore out. I also used to buy the David Benjamin line at Lerner. I remember a yellow/black plaid suit jacket with a 40s-esque rayon blouse and a long, straight skirt with kick pleat. You know-that outfit would be back in style with a few updates now. :) I also remember the 40s-style cotton dress with a rose print that I wore to my ex-husband's graduation. I was also fond of a green polka dot dress also very 40s in style that I bought at Marshall Field's. :)

It is probably easier now to save clippings, thanks to scanners and such. I wish I would have saved some of the fashion magazines I read during that time.

Thanks for sharing such a neat project-

:) I wore big polka dots incessantly in the 80s. I think back now and it probably looked as if I bought all my clothes at Circus Surplus!

I can't wait to show the rest of the clippings. True it is a big help to have a scanner these days. These things have been lounging around in a huge scrapbook for lo these many years. I wish I'd saved all the magazines, but finally had to relent in my last move.

that is just super! I loved seeing the all the pics. Do you know who did the second business photo, the one with the edwardian style suits? I love them!

Kelly, it is so shameful that I didn't save the details on these items with any regularity...shameful I didn't save the whole magazines!! I had no idea at the time what the details would mean to me later.

Chris, I had for awhile those nutty bangs that stood up pretty stiffly. Is that bad enough?

Maggie I have done the same thing. I used to have a collection of wonderful mags from way back when and I even made a scrapbook of my favorites photos from them but over the years I got rid of them, just not enough room to keep everything.
