Alfred Angelo, don\'t know what this dress is!

All of the tags are still there. It says this dress retailed for 650 dollars! I can not tell how old it is though. One of the tags is for a bridal shop that still exists (Wendy's). This dress has a train, like a wedding gown, but it is pink. I've never seen a pink wedding gown, nor a bridesmaids dress with a train. Any help with what this is or when it may have been made would be great! And if it has any value. Here's some pictures of the gown and the tags.

Oh, I was in love with this style when I was a little girl. I wanted a wedding dress just like it, except in white. :)

I'm not great with dating 1980s stuff, but I would put this around 1987-1989. I'm sure someone else can tell you with more certainty.

I think it is definitely a wedding dress, it just happens to be pink. :)

It looks like we don't have this particular label in the label resource, so I'm sure Lizzie would like to have it. Could you post the label over in the label forum, too?

Or maybe a debutante or cotillion dress? 80s sounds right. A real confection of a dress!

I agree on eighties but with those big cabbage roses would put it a little earlier: 86-87. In any case, we're in the ballpark.

Agree about wedding dress too: a friend of mine married in pink in the 80s. Her mother in law kicked up a stink when she wanted to wear white despite living with her partner before the wedding. Pink was a compromise.

Don't know if you are still on this thread, but that is a wedding dress. I purchased for around same price in 1990 and wore in my September wedding. It is 100% silk and not shiny at all in person, and has a beautiful long train which can be bustled under those rosettes. Inspiration to wear pink: I looked terrible in white, the June 1989 edition of Victoria magazine featured a bride in a pink Priscilla of Boston gown on cover (which I could not afford), and I was enamored with Steel Magnolia's on screen wedding look (copied Julia Robert's hairstyle!).
