Alison Ayres Original 1950s or 1960s ???

I found this exact dress, though several sizes larger, on line, for sale and listed as a 1950s dress. Dress has the high armholes that I thought was used in the 50s, but the back half belt and the fact that it's fitted over the hips with two front and two back pleats were more 60s features????

Dress also has a long metal zipper in back, no union label and appears to be a linen like fabric, though I haven't tried a burn test yet.

Amber , the approx. length from shoulder to hem is 39" and waist to hem is 25"

The style looked late 50's to early 60's, but based on the total length I'm agreeing with early 60's. Cute dress!

Dress length is another "clue" I need to look for. Do you have a "length guideline", you could share, that you use to decide if a dress falls into late '50s or early '60s?
