This July we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future, the iconic 1985 film that took us on a high-octane ride through time—and right into the heart of vintage Americana.
The film introduced audiences to Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox), a skateboarding high schooler who accidentally travels back to 1955. As Marty navigates the past to ensure his parents fall in love—and secure his own existence—audiences were captivated by the film’s wit, warmth, and nostalgia.

Great Scott! It's strange to think we're now further into the future than the film travelled backwards—and we've even passed the once-distant future date: October 21, 2015! The film itself is now a classic, yet, four decades later, the looks still inspire. After all, fashion—as in time travel—loops, rewinds and reimagines the past to shape the future.
