can you guess who made this? I was surprised to see the label.

Is this late 40's, early 50's? Would the skirt that would have matched been more like a swing skirt? Thanks..

I have to test the material (which I am still only so so doing) but I think it is a lightweight wool and the collar is real velvet.
Has triangular shoulder pads and a great fit. It also fits me like it was made for me so I am debating selling it - it would be great with jeans!

I think some of the early Leslie Fay pieces are quite desirable so I am not totally surprised. Wouldnt have guessed though.:spin:

The Leslie Fay company began in 1947 and the jacket does look to be late 40's or just over the cusp. I would expect the skirt to be 'A' line or pencil and almost calf length.

I took the velvet collar off and took it to the dry cleaners and I am keeping it.
