Am i right at dating this bag as 50\'s?

hello, am i right at dating this bag as 1950's? When i bought it, it had gloves inside (pictured) and is by st michaels. Does anyone agree/ disagree? Thanks!

Is it red? I see a dark cinnamon brown...

It looks 50s to me too. In fact, its very close to a bag I have that was worn with a going away suit in 1957.

Maybe its just a bad picture it was done rather quickly. Its dark brown. Thanks for confirming it's 1950's, i'm still rather unconfident when it comes to dating. Can anyone recommend any good books on vintage bags?

Actually, when i click on the pic for the enlargement i see brown rather than cinnamon. thelittle pic makes it look different to me

This is very chic! I really like it! And count me in as agreeing with 50s as well. (I find it hard sometimes to differentiate between 50s and into the mid 60s, but this is definitely 50s!) And definitely an attention getter!
