Amy Winehouse Dress

Am I the only one that thinks its a bit vulgar to sell her dress so soon after her death? I guess you have to strike while the body's still warm to get the max $...

Well, you could call it vulgar, but it happens because the need to do something meaningful, like setting up a foundation in her name and then raising funds, is a normal and understandable way of dealing with grief. It seems to be very common with the families of those who die tragically young, to throw themselves into charity work.

I feel the sadness of her early death quite deeply, just as someone who liked her music, so imagine what her father feels, and I think is how he copes.

People usually don't give up personal items like clothing this soon..... Especially when they have her music which is her legacy.....

I'm surprised that the designer only loaned it to Amy, I would thought Amy would have bought it or received it as a gift for promoting the designer's work - but I'm glad that the proceeds have gone to help the charity.

The dress she wore in the film clip "Tears Dry on their Own" was sold a while ago. That was vintage, and I'm also surprised to hear that this wasn't a vintage dress too, as it could easily have been '80s (although now seeing the dress in full it's clear that it's modern).
