An article about my shoe book...

Isn't it funny how reporters sometimes get things confused (or make things up)? I was seriously misquoted in a local newspaper last year. I think another person's comment was attributed to me. I contacted the reporter about it, and she never even responded to me.

The article is great publicity for your book! It reminds me that I still need to order a copy.

And here is something I didn't know:
And the American word for mules is slides.

Maybe there is some regional variation - I think I've only heard them called mules around here (Ohio).

i think its a Wonderful article, great pic, and fab publicity for your book Jonathan!

maybe just a little bit prejudiced.. but honest! :)

That bit about Americans calling mules slides is a partial misquote. I thought I was answering a question on how names of shoes changed over time...

I didn't like the pic because it was taken 6 hours before I was to get my haircut, I don't exactly look thin in it (which I am touchy about at the moment since I have gained a few pounds since I quit smoking) and my skin looks blotchy because I tried to make myself look better for the photo by throwing on some fake sun tan stuff and I guess my skin was too dry because it coloured my face in blotches!!!

None of that comes through in the pic, Jonathan -- you look rakish and devil-may-care! And maybe a little mischievous, too. :smug:

Amazon is showing it as not available until September - has it been delayed again?

Of course, that won't stop me from pre-ordering. :kiss2:

l think you look handsome in that pic...whats up with it??? not bad article, even if not accurate, all good pr!!!

What a kick to see the man behind the name.

Informative article. I ordered my book but I have been told by Amazon, via email, that I am not to receive it till September.

Although you look nothing like I had imagined, it is a wonderfully open-faced photo. And I especially like that shoe you are holding.

Jonathan, you look great!! :love008:

Good article and great publicity.

Well, thanks for the 'you look great' comments -- of course none of you know what I looked like before! lol

Well, I do have good news however... The shoe books are on their way to me and I should have them by the end of next week or the week after, so if you want a shoe book, hold off for a couple more weeks because I will be getting them in soon. Also, I will be heading down to NY the last week of June, so any sales to Americans I can pop in the mail down there to keep shipping costs down.

I know its frustrating to not have the book available in stores, but the US market wanted the UK market to break the ice by releasing in February and then the US market would make more sales for Christmas, so that's why they went for the Sept release.

Well said, Kristine!

And the interview is terrific, Jonathan--fun and chockful of interesting tid bits (I particularly like the image of heel caps at the Louvre...)

It really makes me antsy for my signed copy of the full opus--so glad to hear the wait won't be much longer!
