and another one... 70\'s doing 50\'s? nylon zip?

this one is a puzzle, in with an estate lot. the rest was -all home tailored - 50's and 60's, with another dress made from the same fabric that was shirtwaist style and very typically 50's.
it is extremely well made, and everything about it says 50's or 60's to me aside from the "newness" of the net underskirt, and a nylon back zipper?

shall i list in 60's and put late 60's/70's does 50's?

ok, that's all for now - need to go take more pics :saint: thank you!!

early 60's would make much more sense, agree about the pattern esp.bodice (sorry didn't show back shot). i have it drilled into my head that nylon zips = 70's. which i know isn't strictly true!

I'm sure this is early 60s. In the 80s, it's highly unlikely that you would have had the matching belt with the coered buckle, and that fabric probably wasn't even made any more!

It's lovely!

Louise,
I had no idea about the hexagonal netting. I am so glad I read this thread. I have a Lorrie Deb debutantish dress. The netting was safety pinned in! Gasp. I wasn't until further inspection that I realized it was cut out of the dress and then safety pinned in. But it's green to match the dress. I just assumed someone added it to for a costume or something. Good to know!

Do you think it is worth getting fixed professionally?
