the arms are odd (or not odd, but unusual in terms of I don't know how to identify them) so I photoed them up and down- definitely too small for me to put on. It has a sort of gathered pleated back near the hem and all the sequins along the top of back and shoudlers

it's super plush and has hook closures

I have no idea on style or date!

(almost to the bottom of this box!)

Another great find for you! I agree it is a Victorian mantle, looks 1880s to me. The back treatment is to allow room for the bustle on the lady's gown. Yours appears to have the lovely lining intact and in very good shape, which a nice, as the linings on these tend to have some damage. Yes, plush, this one looks made to imitate seal fur.

That box is a treasure trove.

Everyone thanks so much for your help and support!! This box has been a treasure trove and just for fun, this outfit should be shared too! I’m too nervous to clean it bc it has paper feeling stuff in the neck and hem so I have it up for auction at the moment. Hopefully it goes to someone who can restore it a bit- the fabric is beyondddd amazing- thought you all might enjoy :)

HA! The waist is 24” fastened so it’s tiny but not as tiny as some of this stuff! It’s in rougher shape too- stained and dingy but gosh so pretty. It’s for sale now on eBay and I do realize I’m like the only person on earth who sells vintage and prefers eBay :)
