Angora Scotty Dog Sweater - 80\'s or Earlier?

I initially thought this sweater was 80's....
(isn't it cute?, the best scotty sweater I've ever had!).

The dogs and the red stripes are fluffy angora, the buttons are plastic domes.
It's loose on the mannequin so not showing as well as it should.

No serging inside at all, and no label as to contents (manadatory after 72?).
The sweater is like new, and nothing has been removed.
The size tags, etc. are the older style ribbon tags and it's Made in USA.

Is this possibly earlier, or 80's as I first suspected?

BTW....what size is it...that would give you a clue. Could the content label have fallen off or is it on reverse of the dry cleaning label?

I have seen ribbon tags more recently as well on better garments.

I am thinking 80s on this too

I think 80's too. Only because sweaters were really in about that time with character's and colors....

I was sure it was.... but sometimes you start
