OOOPS....Well, we all know how 'inspired' the designers are by vintage clothing...the only difference being that vintage design is apparently public domain.

When I was at FIT last week, I got a sneek preview of some garments in the Isabel Toledo exhibit opening in June. Her Kangaroo dress was copied by Calvin Klein in the same color, fabric, etc. two years later.

I have an Oscar dress (about 2002) that is a knock off of a Balenciaga in the FIT collection. You really have to look hard to see the differences.

FIT has several couture designs which American designers used for "inspiration" and then donated. C
