This silk chiffon dress, by Rona (one of those very nice quality names, not upscale designer stuff, but much nicer than average off the rack), has me stumped. Without its little jacket, it looks very solidly 60s to me, with its natural fitted waistline, small rolled/standup collar, metal zipper, etc. But the open-front jacket looks 70s--wide lapels, somewhat wide sleeve ends gathered into the cuff to give it a little puff at the end, etc. What do you guys think? Oh, and it was made to take a fairly wide belt, about 1 1/2" to 2" wide, but the belt is missing (I like it without, but have left the loops there). The fabric is so nice, and the colors so soft--I really like this, but not sure what to say about it when I list it. Is this a mother-of-the-bride look, cruise wear, or just plain old "formal event" wear? And the length--it's not floor length, not waltz length. Kinda in between--ankle length? I'd keep it if it fit me....

Thanks, Mary & Nicole! Early 70s, then. In person, much harder to tell till you see the jacket.... And I'm going to feature it without the jacket, since that has some holes at back, and I think it looks far nicer without anyway (but I will include a small shot of it with, in case anyone would want to wear it).

oh, yes, without the jacket is much more attractive, i think.

looks like a mother of the bride sort of dress...with wedding season nearly here, that might be a way to market it, too
