Another flower query I\'m afraid...

For ages I thought these were roses, but looked closer and now I'm just confused again. My mother would disown me, honestly.

It's from a lovely cotton print 40s gown which alas I have to sell on...

I think that is a stylised flower, where they have created a flower , not necessarily a real flower. Alot of the flowers on vintage items are stylised. I would be happy to call it an open cupped rose.

I agree that it's a stylized flower. It reminds me of a peony or an old fashioned rose (not the new hybrids).
