I posted on another thread this morning ("What to call these embellishments on a 40s jacket?") about a lovely buyer who was thrilled that she found my jacket, because it was identical to one she had that had become pretty worn -- and it's from the 40s! So of course that made my day.
But just now I got a note from another buyer, and it touched me in a different way. She'd bought a cute 80s black and white houndstooth coat-dress that had black ball fringe running around the hem and the shawl collar. This is what she wrote:
Received your lovely dress this week and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!
Three years ago I lost everything I owned in hurricane Katrina here in New Orleans. Your gorgeous houndstooth dress will be a great addition to my new start!!!
