I am trying to identify the lace used in this turn of the century dress. Can anyone help? Especially the center lacey area and motif. What is that?

Do you have any suggestions on anyone to contact that might know?

That is a very pretty lace insertion dress. I have seen a lot of them and that one ranks up at the top with the best. Of course this dress uses a lot of different types of lace and they all appear to be hand made, judging from the erratic patterns. That central panel is some kind of bobbin lace - maybe Bedforshire? Its hard to tell without seeing it close up and I am not a lace expert.
